BioSkin material – Unique in terms of comfort, compression and skin friendliness

The properties of material are of great importance when choosing the right brace. It involves a mix of the right compression, degree of comfort and skin friendliness. These are determining factors for the success of the brace. BioSkin knows this like no other. With proprietary materials, braces are produced that offer optimal support without compromising comfort and freedom of movement.

The unique and patented BioSkin material provides excellent high-level compression without limiting activity. The material is particularly thin and fits nicely with the curves of the body.

BioSkin is also breathable and hypoallergenic. Perspiration evaporates through the material. This also ensures that the brace will not smell quickly. These properties minimize the risk of skin reactions and ensure optimal wearing comfort.

The BioSkin material has a triple layer structure to improve comfort and portability. The two outer layers are made up of Lycra with a thin polyurethane “SmartSkin” membrane in between. However, the material is only 1.05 mm thick and much stronger than neoprene and other substances used in orthopaedics.

SkinLok anti-slip

The SkinLok technique is one of BioSkin’s most well-known qualities. When the skin starts to perspire, the SkinLok function is activated and increases the coefficient of friction between the material and the skin. This increase ensures that the brace stays firmer in place, even with more intense movements, while perspiration-draining properties are guaranteed.

BioSkin Ultima Thin Skin material offers the highest level of compression compared to the other materials in the range. The ultima provides dynamic compression in knee skins™ products and performance support.
