Lomed recently entered into a partnership with Tmax. Tmax kinesiology tape is of high quality that strengthens the recovery of the body in a natural way. The tape is based on practices within physiotherapy. With the tape, injuries can be treated in an effective and natural way.

1. Shoulder injury

By taping a shoulder injury, the current injury is supported and protects the shoulder from further injuries in the future. The compression also ensures an accelerated recovery period from the injury.

How can Tmax tape be applied in case of shoulder injuries?

  • Apply tape in a Y-shaped manner with the Y facing up.
  • Hold the arm at a 90-degree angle and apply the Y straps without pressure.
  • Apply second tape to 75% tension both ways.

2. Torn ankle strap

When the ankle ligaments are stretched, it is important to repair this carefully. Taping the ankle using kinesio tape provides reinforcement in the ankle, while little freedom of movement is lost.

How can Tmax tape be applied to a torn ankle ligament?

  • Apply the end of the tape over the ankle fracture.
  • Then run the tape under the foot in the opposite direction.
  • Bring the tape up over the ankle fracture to the front of the foot.
  • Finish by running the tape back towards the outside of the ankle.

3. Tennis elbow

By taping a tennis elbow, the pressure on the tendons and muscles is reduced. This results in more stability, which promotes the recovery process and reduces the pain symptoms.

How can Tmax tape be applied to tennis elbow?

  • Measure the L-tape in length position.
  • Place the L-tape in a lengthwise position from the hand.
  • Stretch the arm and place the L-tape on the forearm.
  • Place the black tape vertically at elbow length.

4: Jumpers Knee

The taping of the knee provides a strengthening in the knee, while little freedom of movement is lost. This supports the current injury and allows the sporting activity to be resumed.

How can Tmax tape be applied to a Jumpers Knee?

  • Fix the Y-tape without stretch about halfway through the quadriceps femoris.
  • Place the tape with light stretch in the direction of the patella.
  • Apply the split around the patella edge.
  • Apply a second Y-tape for additional stability.

5: Whipping

By tapping the whip into the calf, the skin is lifted slightly. This significantly improves blood flow in the pain area. In addition, it provides extra compression to the calf, which has a positive impact on the recovery period from the injury.

How can Tmax tape be applied when whipping?

  • Apply a star tape (4 i-tapes of 2.5 cm wide).
  • The first tape is placed with maximum stretch from the middle across the muscle tear.
  • You then finish the star with the other 3 strips.
  • Finally, apply a relaxing tape from the lower foot to slightly beyond the knee cavity.

6: Meniscus injury

A meniscus injury recovers poorly, so the use of kinesiology tape works effectively for the recovery process of the meniscus. The compression will improve blood circulation, which will speed up the recovery process.

How can Tmax tape be applied to meniscus injuries?

  • Cut off 2 strips of both 15 centimeters.
  • Stick a piece of tape on the outside of the kneecap over the bulge of the kneecap.
  • Stick the other piece of tape on the inside of the kneecap, again over the bulge.

7: Hamstring injury

When you are injured in the hamstring, tape can provide protection, compression and support to the hamstring. This allows the client to pick up the sporting activities faster.

How can Tmax tape be applied to hamstring injuries?

  • Tape the outside of the knee from the middle of the thigh to just below the buttock.
  • Bring a small piece of tape over the other piece of tape.
  • Finally, bring another small piece of tape over the first piece of tape, making a cross.

8: Heel spur

When the foot is taped in heel spurs, it is ensured that the tendon plate cannot be stretched too far. This ensures that the tendon tissue is stimulated, allowing the heel injury to recover faster.

How can Tmax tape be applied to heel spurs?

  • Cut two strips of 15 cm and one of about 10 cm.
  • Apply the first 15 cm strip of apply the tape with full tension from the pain point under the heel to the heel.
  • Apply the second strip of 15 cm and in the same way but half a tape width towards the heel.
  • To make it a whole, you can use the third strip of tape to apply to the heel.

9: Overloaded wrist

The use of tape makes wrist movements smoother, puts the wrist in the correct position and improves blood flow. This leads to a quick recovery from any swelling and better stabilization in the wrist joint.

How can Tmax tape be applied to an overloaded wrist?

  • Place the first piece of tape on the back of the hand.
  • This should extend to the palm of the hand and end on the inside of the forearm (thumb side).
  • Cut 2 holes in the tape for your waist and ring finger.
  • Take the second piece of tape and apply it to your wrist.

10: Scoliosis

Taping your back using kinesiology tape provides light support and compression of the spine. The tape creates tension on the vertebral column, which reduces pain complaints of the curvature.

How can Tmax tape be applied to scoliosis?

  • Use the wide tape and stick it on the collarbone.
  • Then apply the tape at an angle to the bottom of your other shoulder blade.
  • Do this with a desired tension as the pain symptoms.
  • Then apply the tape exactly the same to the other side of your back, in the form of a cross.
